Words and Songs for the Church Year

Sunday: Ordinary 21B, Proper 16B

God's sons and daughters

Sentence
Jesus said, "It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life", Jn.6:63

Collects
Lord God, you know us to be set in the midst of so many great dangers that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: grant us such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP Epiphany 4

Let us pray [that God will make us one in mind and heart.]
Father, help us to seek the values that will bring us lasting joy in this changing world. In our desire for what you promised make us one in mind and heart. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

Everliving God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified: hear the prayers we offer for all your faithful people, that in the ministry to which you have called them each may serve you in holiness and truth; through our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. APBA
