Last Sunday after Epiphany A

The Transfiguration

Sentence
Suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him!' Matthew 17:5

Collects
Almighty God, we confess that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves: keep us outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities that may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP. Lent 2

Eternal God, our glorious King, whose Son Jesus Christ was seen in splendour by his chosen witnesses: give us, your servants, faith to see in him the true light and to walk in his way, that we may be transformed into his likeness and live with him in glory; where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB.

O God, in the transfiguration of your Son you confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the witness of Moses and Elijah, and in the voice from the cloud you foreshadowed our adoption as your children: make us, with Christ, heirs of your glory and bring us to enjoy its fullness; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. APBA

But we all with open face beholding
