The prayer of the humble

Sentence
      Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. Luke 18:17

      Almighty and eternal God, grant that we may grow in faith, hope, and love; and that we may obtain what you promised, make us love what you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP. Trinity 14
 
      Let us pray [for the strength to God's will.]
      Almighty and ever-living God, strengthen our faith, hope and love. May we do with loving hearts what you ask of us and enter more fully the life you promise. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB
 
      O God, who alone can probe the depths of the heart, you hear the prayer of the humble and justify the repentant sinner: grant us the gift of humility, that, seeking our faults clearly, we may refrain from judging our neighbour, but rely solely upon your saving grace. We make our prayer through your Son, our Saviour, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. APBA
 
      Lord, our ruler and guide, we thank you for the reformation of your Church, for those men and women in the past who have sought to renew your decayed people with a spirit of understanding, truth and peace. Help us to strive with all our hearts to know what is pleasing to you. Where there is error, correct what is wrong; where there is want, supply what is lacking, where there is right, strengthen and confirm, and where there is division, heal and unite. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. For Reformation Sunday
