Prayer and Service

Sentence
      The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mk.10:45
 
Collects
      Almighty and everlasting God, mercifully look on our infirmities; and in all our dangers and necessities stretch out your right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP, Epiphany 3
 
      Let us pray [for the gift of joy in our service of God and humanity]
      Almighty and ever-living God, our source of power and inspiration, give us strength and joy in serving you as followers of Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB
 
      God of unchangeable power, when the heaven and earth were made, the morning stars sang together and the host of heaven shouted for joy: open our eyes to the wonders of creation and teach us to use all things for good to the honour of your glorious name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
