Sunday: Ordinary 26B, Proper 21B

True repentance

Sentence
Salt is good; but if salt has lost its saltness, how can it be seasoned? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another. Mk.9:50

Collects
Lord God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: grant us such a measure of your grace that, running in the way of your commandments, we may obtain your promises, and share in your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP Trinity 11

Let us pray [for God's forgiveness and for the happiness it brings]
Father, you show your almighty power in your mercy and forgiveness. Continue to fill us with your gifts of love. Help us to hurry towards the eternal life you promised and to come to share in the joys of your kingdom. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

O God, your Son has taught us that those who give a cup of water in his name will not lose their reward: open our eyes to see those who are in need, and teach us to set no store by riches and earthly rewards, so that, in surrendering ourselves to serve you in your children, we may labour for the treasure that endures; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. APBA

Hymn or Chorus first line
I will sing, I will sing
Lift up your heads
I will arise and go to Jesus
O come down O love divine
How can it be that I should gain
Before the Lord Jehovah's throne
Awake, awake to love and work
What a friend we have in Jesus
