Sunday: Ordinary 24B, Proper 19B

Salvation and forgiveness

Sentence
Those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for the sake of the gospel will save it. Mk.8:35

Collects
Merciful Lord, grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP. Trinity 21

Let us pray [that God will keep us faithful in his service]
Almighty God, our creator and guide, may we serve you with all our heart, and know your forgiveness in our lives. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

God of mercy, help us to forgive as you have forgiven us, to trust you, even when hope is failing, and to take up our cross daily and follow you in your redeeming work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. APBA
