Sunday: Ordinary 20C, Proper 15C

The will and call of God

Sentence
'Is not my word like fire,' says the Lord, 'and like a hammer that breaks a rock to pieces?' Jeremiah 23:29

Collects
God our Father, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as pass man's understanding: pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you above all things, may obtain your promises which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP. Trinity 6

Let us pray [that the love of God may raise us beyond what we see to the unseen glory of his kingdom.]
God our Father, may we love you in all things and above all things and reach the joy you have prepared for us beyond all imagining. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

Everliving God, increase in us your gift of faith, that, forsaking sin and all that hinders us, we may run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. APBA
