Easter Vigil

Baptized into Christ's death

Sentence
Those who enter God's rest also cease from their labours as God did from his. Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest. Hebrews 4:10-11

Collects
Grant, Lord, that as we have been baptized into the death of your dear Son our Saviour Jesus Christ, so by continually putting to death our sinful desires we may die to sin and be buried with him, and that through the grave and gate of death we may pass to our joyful resurrection; for his sake who died and was buried and rose again for us, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP. Easter Eve.

Let us pray [that the risen Christ will raise us up and renew our lives]
Lord God, you have brightened this night with the radiance of the risen Christ. Quicken the spirit of sonship in your church; renew us in mind and body to give you whole-hearted service. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

Eternal giver of life and light, this holy night shines with the radiance of the risen Christ: renew your Church with the Spirit given to us in baptism, that we may worship you in sincerity and truth, and shine as a light in the world: through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. APBA
