4th Sunday in Advent B

The promised saviour

Sentence
This child will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there will be no end. Luke 1:32-33

Collects
We beseech you, Lord, pour your grace into our hearts; that, as we have known the incarnation of your Son Jesus Christ by the message of an angel, so by his cross and passion we may be brought to the glory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. BCP. Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Let us pray [that Christ will truly come into our hearts]
Fill our hearts with your love, and as you revealed to us by an angel the coming of your Son as a man, so lead us through his suffering and death to the glory of his resurrection, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

Gracious God, whose eternal Word took flesh among us when Mary placed her life at the service of your will: prepare our hearts for his coming again and keep us steadfast in hope, that we may be ready for the coming of his kingdom; for his sake, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. APBA
